SMS & voice consent (transactional)

MockInspections sends transactional SMS (text) and, when the user has opted in, automated voice calls only for the purposes described below. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages or call campaigns. Message and data rates may apply for SMS.
1. Who may receive messages
Only users who have completed opt-in as described in Section 3 may receive SMS or voice. Typically these are Auditors (users assigned to complete mock inspections) and, where enabled, Owners who have opted in for health-permit-related reminders. Recipients are account holders on our service, not purchased lists.
2. What we send (use case)
- Inspection-ready alerts (SMS and/or voice): Short notifications when a mock inspection is ready to complete, including the location name and a link to open the audit in the app (SMS includes the link; voice describes that an inspection is ready).
- Health permit reminders (SMS and/or voice, Owners only): Informational reminders related to health permit expiry when the Owner has opted in and a phone number on file.
Frequency is event-driven (when an inspection is triggered or a permit reminder runs)—not recurring marketing blasts. Volume depends on how often the customer uses the product.
3. All methods of opt-in (verifiable)
We collect consent only through our website (electronic). We do not use paper forms, verbal-only opt-in, or third-party lists for SMS/voice consent.
3a. Signup (email & password)

Optional phone field with a dedicated checkbox. The user must check the box to agree to informational SMS and automated voice calls for inspection-ready alerts (and related account notifications for Auditors), with language that includes message/data rates and Reply STOP to opt out of SMS, and a link to this policy. Creating the account also requires acceptance of our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which are linked on the same page.
3b. Account settings (all signed-in users, including Google / social sign-in)

In the Name & phone section, the user enters a phone number and checks the SMS/voice consent checkbox (same substance as signup). Clicking Save name & phone records consent in our systems. Users who sign in with Google or another provider complete opt-in here; we do not send SMS/voice until this step is completed.
3c. Paper, in-person, or other channels
Not used. We do not collect SMS or voice opt-in via paper, verbal-only, or offline processes.
4. Privacy Policy and Terms of Service
The pages where opt-in occurs are part of our site, which includes:

5. Third parties and Twilio
We use Twilio as an authorized service provider solely to deliver SMS and voice messages we initiate on behalf of users who have opted in. Twilio processes phone numbers and message content only to provide that delivery service under our instructions. We do not sell phone numbers or consent data. We do not share subscriber opt-in information with third parties for their own marketing or unrelated purposes. See our Privacy Policy for how we use service providers.
6. How to opt out (SMS and voice)
- SMS: Reply STOP to opt out of further SMS from our program where supported by the carrier and Twilio. You may also remove your phone number in Account settings (https://mockinspections.com/account), which withdraws consent and stops SMS from us.
- Voice: Opt out by removing your phone number in Account settings or by contacting support as listed on our Help page and Privacy Policy.
