What is ShieldInspect?
ShieldInspect helps food service businesses prepare for health inspections by running mock inspections. Owners add locations, invite Compliance Leads (employees), and run or schedule surprise audits. Compliance Leads complete checklist-based audits with photos and knowledge questions. Results are reviewed and approved by the owner.
How do I add a location?
Sign in as an owner, go to the dashboard, and click “+ Add location.” Enter the location name, address, and timezone. You can add a photo and set how many surprise inspections per month and how long Compliance Leads have to complete each one.
How do I invite a Compliance Lead?
From the Employees page you can invite someone by email (they join your organization and can be assigned to locations later). From a location’s page you can invite someone by email to that specific location, or assign an existing employee from your list. Invite links expire after 7 days.
What are mock inspections?
Mock inspections are practice audits that mirror health-inspection style checklists. They are for training and preparation only and do not replace official health department inspections. Compliance Leads complete steps (photos, answers, compliance checkboxes), and owners review and approve results.
How does the audit setup work?
Under “Audit setup” you choose which standard checklist items apply to your locations and add custom items. You can reorder items by dragging. The “Knowledge question bank” lets you add or edit multiple-choice questions that appear at random during audits.
How do I export compliance data?
On the Audit logs page, use “Export PDF (last 4 per location)” to download a PDF summary of the last 4 approved audits per location, including date, score, grade, and who performed each audit.
How do I manage my subscription?
Owners can update payment method, view invoices, or cancel from Account → “Manage subscription,” which opens the Stripe billing portal. Subscription is $50/month with the first month free.
I didn’t receive the confirmation email.
Check spam. If you still don’t see it, go to the Resend confirmation page from the sign-in page and enter your email to receive a new confirmation link.
Where is my data stored?
We use Supabase for database and file storage (profile and location photos, audit photos). Data is stored in the region configured for your project. See our Privacy Policy for more detail.
